Xena gives up her warrior ways for all of five seconds until she meets a band of thugs and some helpless villagers (and one not so helpless young Gabrielle). Xena goes home to Amphipolis only to be shunned and nearly stoned if not for the help of Gabrielle who has been stalking the Warrior Princess. Together they thwart Draco's plans. The town rejoices. Mother forgives daughter. And, Xena makes a new friend.
Boy: "Ya got any food you could spare?"
Xena: "Food's scarce everywhere. No one has anything to spare. Where are your parents?"
Boy: "The other side. They were killed by Xena, the Warrior Princess. She came down out of the sky in a chariot, throwing thunderbolts and breathing fire."
[Xena tosses a small bundle at the boy and rides off. The boy unwraps the bundle to find a hunk of cheese and bread.]
[While burying her sword, chakram and leathers, Xena hears a commotion nearby.]
Hector: "Okay. We can do this one of two ways. You can let us have the girls and go back to those hovels you call home … or, we can hack you all into little pieces an take the girls anyway!"
Gabrielle: "Take me. Let the others go."
Hector: "Nice try. But we'll take you, and anybody else we want! … It's never too early to start training a slave girl." … [raises his whip to take a crack at Gabrielle]
Hector: [to an intervening Xena] … "I got to admit, this village makes tough women. Okay, okay. Now we take the gloves off! Start hacking."
Hector: "You round up the girls."
Soldier: "Yes sir! You heard him! Round up the girls! All right, let's go!"
Hector: "We'll take care of this one."
[Xena opens up a big can of Whoop-Ass on hector and the boys.]
Villager: "Come on! Now's our chance! That's more like it! Now we've got 'em!"
Xena: [to a prostrate Hector] … "You're with Draco. Tell him Xena says hello." … [nails him in the throat with the blunt end of her sword]
