Season 2 ...
Xena: "When I look at you, I see the purest, the kindest person I have ever known. Someone who's full of wonder and stories, and would never give up on anything ... or anyone."
*** Xena and Gabrielle share a tender moment while discussing the fate of a friend.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun:
*** Just what would Gabrielle do to thank Xena? Sadly, we will probably never know, but one can dream."
Xena: "Gabrielle ... do it."
Gabrielle: "You know, you almost died trying to save me and I really want to do something to thank you."
Return of Callisto:
Callisto: "I missed you, Xena."
*** Anyone notice just how upset Xena was that Gabrielle married Perdicus and was leaving her? And, Xena has performed more miraculous feats against gravity than one can count, why do you suppose she froze when Callisto plunged her sword into Gabrielle's new husband?
Xena: "If anyone's listening, you know I'm not much for praying...but I don't know what else to do. I was ready to give up once and Gabrielle came into my life. Please, don't let that light that shines out of her face go out. I couldn't stand the darkness that would follow."
Callisto: "Oh, how I do love watching you work."
Callisto: "Hello, Xena. Oh, how I've missed you. Do you know how boring Tartarus can be? Same old torture everyday, everyday. Makes me appreciate what we had."
A Solstice Carol:
Gabrielle: "I don't have a gift for you."
Xena: "Gabrielle, you are a gift to me."
Gabrielle: "Xena, I know you can hear me wherever you are. I know you always told me to be strong. But I can't be, not now. You can't leave me. I know it's not your time. I can feel it in my heart. I feel this emptiness that I have never felt before and it scares me. Above all, just remember to fight. Fight to come back. This world needs you. I need you."
Gabrielle: "Why? Why did you leave? There are so many things I want to say to you."
Xena: "Gabrielle, you don't have to say a word."
Gabrielle: "Xena, I can't lose you again."
Xena: "Gabrielle, I'll always be here."
A Day in the Life:
Gabrielle: Xena, this was our only frying pan. Why do you do that. You do have weapons, don't you?!
Xena: I like to be creative in a fight. It gets my juices flowing.
Gabrielle: "Can we cook with your juices?!"
Hower: "Does Xena ever think about settling down and getting married?"
Gabrielle: "No, she likes what I do."
*** I guess Gabrielle just needed some extra leverage to pull herself up Xena's toned ... leather-clad ... soft ... supple ... um, what was I saying?
*** Of course, let's not forget about the infamous bath scene.
Gabrielle: "Look, my best friend is Xena, Warrior Princess, and she is not going to like this forced wedding thing, if you get my drift."
Xena: "I've got save my friend."
Palaemon: "Well, that must be some friend."
Palaemon: "Is your friend really worth all this?"
Xena: "I'd give my life to save her."
*** Fortunately, for those of us who believe, the writers stayed true to the legend, and Xena and Gabrielle sailed off into the sunset.
Gabrielle: "Promise me one thing...you'll follow your heart and don't worry about me."
Xena: "You're part of my heart Gabrielle. You've been so good for me. I don't think I would ever have let myself feel the way I feel now about Ulysses if it wasn't for you teaching me how to love."
*** I prefer to believe that she wouldn't say these things to Ulysses if there wasn't some truth in them.
Xena: "I'm not in love with you. I don't think I ever could be. I like my life the way it is."
Ulysses: "I don't believe you. I think you are in love with me."
Xena: "Well, isn't that just a typical man. I give you a few smiles and a kiss and you're convinced that I'm in love with you. You're kidding yourself. I was embarassed by all that mush you were spewing the other night. The only reason I didn't shoot you down right then is because I didn't think you could handle it. So let me lay it on the line for you Ulysses, you're not my type."
Xena: "I let my fear and hatred blind me to everything."
Gabrielle: "Sometimes the past can do that. If I had been through ..."
Xena: "No. You understand hatred, but you've never given in to it. You don't know how much I love ... that."
*** This image pretty much so speaks for itself.
A Comedy of Eros:
Xena: "You would kill the woman (Gabrielle) you love?"
Draco: "The question is, would you?"
